Artera Technologies, LLC’s performs extensive vulnerability research and security risk assessment of our clients’ various embedded devices and firmware. When applicable, we develop specially crafted solutions such as embedded device capabilities.
Tasking:
Design, develop, debug, and modify embedded software.
Analyzes requirements and determines which requirements have a software component. The software requirements are translated into software instructions and entered either by hand or through an automated tool used to generate code.
Break down program specifications into the simplest elements and translate it into code.
Skills & Experience:
Embedded development experience.
Combined experience in the following programming, scripting, and query languages: C, C++, Assembly (Intel, Motorola, and/or PowerPC), Java, Perl, Python, C Shell, Bash, and SQL.
Experience with reverse engineering.
Experience in an embedded product development position.
Experience with embedded Real-Time Operating System (RTOS) application development environments
Experience in one (1) or more of the following areas:
Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) development
Application of in-circuit emulation
Background Debug Mode (BDM) or Joint Test Action Group (JTAG) (IEEE 1149.1) interfaces
Testing of embedded systems
General Qualifications:
Embedded Software Engineer Level 1 requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, and 0-1 years of experience as an embedded software engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Embedded Software Engineer Level 2 requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, and 1-5 years of experience as an embedded software engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Embedded Software Engineer Level 3 requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, and 5-10 years of experience as an embedded software engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
Embedded Software Engineer Level 4 requires a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related discipline, and 10+ years of experience as an embedded software engineer on programs and contracts of similar scope, type, and complexity.
